A flexible program allows the athlete to a skip date within a program. A good example of a flexible program is an off-season voluntary workout where the athlete is asked to complete four workouts on any four days within a one week period. A flexible program allows athletes to complete assigned workouts at their own leisure within an extended period of time. A flexible program also uses a calendar to schedule, but is based on workout days. This is helpful in assigning a program that may require 2 workouts in a week-long period but not necessarily need to be fixed to specific dates. In either case, athletes who miss workouts are able to go back and complete their workout.
