Understanding Baselines in CoachMePlus
Full Video Walkthrough:
What is an Exercise Baseline?
An Exercise Baseline in CoachMePlus is specific to an individual exercise. It means that any given exercise in your library can have its own one-repetition maximum (1RM) that stays specific to that exercise. For example, if you set an Exercise Baseline for a back squat, it applies only to that back squat and cannot be used for other exercises like front squats or deadlifts.
What is a Shared Baseline?
A Shared Baseline, on the other hand, is more versatile. It is a baseline that can be applied to multiple exercises. For example, a back squat 1RM can be used to set training loads for related exercises like front squats. This allows for greater flexibility and efficiency in programming, as you don't need to create separate 1RMs for each exercise.
Key Differences
- Exercise Baseline: Specific to a single exercise. Used when you want precise control over each exercise's performance data.
- Shared Baseline: Applicable to multiple exercises. Useful for creating streamlined and cohesive training programs.
